For the sake of security, it is crucially important to change the passwords of your accounts in the social networks from time to time, and Instagram password is not an exception. First of all, regular changes of the password will make the chances of your account getting hacked much less likely. Moreover, a third party could previously obtain access to your account due to some reason – especially if you have a weak anti-varus system, and you have not noticed it yet.
So, in order to make sure that your Instagram account is secure and protected, it would be wise to change the password regularly. This simple guide, written in plain English, will show you how to do it. What is even more both important and nice is that Instagram has made changing password a really simple procedure, which will not take more than a minute of your time. Just follow the instructions below!
In order to start the procedure of changing your Instagram password, click on the “Edit Profile” button on the page of your account
Step 1. At first, open your browser. Then, copy the following link into its address line and hit the “Enter” button: http://instagram.com/.
Step 2. Once you have entered Instagram, log in to this social network. If you have problems with it or you do not know how to do it, then you may consider it useful to visit this page.
Step 3. After you have logged in, find the button of your page in Instagram in the form of a person, located in the upper-right part of the page. Give it a click.
Fill the given fields in the following way: enter the old password in the first field, whereas fill the other two fields with your new password
Step 4. Next to your username, you will see a large “Edit profile” button. Click on that button.
Step 5. You will see the page of settings, and there will be a menu of settings left side. You have to select the second section: “Change Password.”
Such a simple message you will see once your password of the Instagram account is changed
Step 6. On the newly opened page, you have to enter your current password in the “Old Password” field. Following it, compose a new password and type it in the next field. Then, repeat it in the last line. By the way, make sure that you have used the “Caps Lock” button unintentionally, since the password field is case sensitive. This means that if your password is “57ZhsT98”, you must enter it exactly the same way and the password “57zhst98” will not be considered as a valid one. Once you have made sure that all the data is entered correctly, click on the “Change Password” button, placed below.
Step 7. That is all. After it, you will see a short message with a green text “Password changed.” Now, you have to use your new Instagram password when logging in to this social network.
